Black Triangle Closure Training

  • The Black Triangle Closure course is a live, one-day experience in Seattle, Washington with both lecture and hands-on components. In addition to the injection overmolding technique, there is a strong emphasis on space and soft tissue assessment as well as matrix selection and customization to mitigate chronic inflammation associated with overzealous space closures.

  • Learn the etiologies of open gingival embrasures (black triangles), common clinical presentations, pros and cons of traditional indirect treatment modalities, the injection overmolding technique, matrix strategies, and common challenges (and solutions) associated with treatment.

Apply didactic lessons to hands-on exercises to successfully evaluate, manage, and close different types of black triangles on a life-like typodont using the injection overmolding technique.

Evaluate and critically analyze opportunities for diastema closure, root overlay rejuvenation, and additional applications for the injection overmolding technique in your practice.

Learn treatment planning and communication techniques to implement Black Triangle closure in your practice with your patients, staff, and partner orthodontists.

  • The Black Triangle certification course includes pre-course reading and optional participation in a scheduled Intro to Black Triangles webinar with Dr. Jihyon Kim. No prior experience with injection overmolding is required to attend.
